Ask any woman what they find attractive about a man, and regardless of what shallow or enlightened qualities they mention, one of the things that will never change for a woman is the importance of a man’s sense of style. But head out to any boutique fashion store and the high price tags are enough to bankrupt us. How can we expect to make ourselves attractive with limited means? The answer? Easily.

Thinking back through time, there are staples of fashion there have always been considered attractive. Slim and skinny fitting clothes, within reason, are a great starting point. And by skinny or slim fitting we mean skinny or slim for that body shape. It is easy for someone who is self-conscious or considers themselves overweight to put together a slim looking wardrobe. Skinny jeans, a fitted shirt and a cheaper pair of work boots for the jeans to tuck into is timeless. Contrary to popular belief, those shirt buttons do need to stay up though.

Even if we want to mix up our look, charity and thrift shops are perfect. Here we can find good condition or new and barely worn clothes with designer labels at a fraction of their high street cost. Just remember though, that designer label is not in itself attractive unless we are trying to attract shallow people. But certain designers do make excellent looking clothes and they need not be expensive.

One other way to dress sharp and attractively on a budget is to go for generic and no name equivalents. We don’t need Timberland boots when an equally attractive alternative is literally 90% cheaper. And with the advent of image searching on the majority of online stores, we can punch in the exact thing we are looking for and most marketplaces will find us something without the pricetag (and albeit without a known brand.)

Cheap can still mean classy. Some of the most eye-catching and attractive setups are easily put together for low double digits. And with the money saved we can make more of an impression by spending on the things that really do matter.
